Dr. Henry Ajagbawa
Henry has led diverse transformational projects across several banks including UBA and EcoBank at executive capacity over the last twenty-two years. His last assignment was the establishment of the public corporate group for the EcoBank Transnational Incorporation covering the 32 countries of the group following which he joined the Nigerian Board as Executive Director. A position he retired from to pursue his academic and entrepreneurial interests. He was also at various times Executive Director at Oceanic Bank and the defunct Equitorial Trust Bank (Now Sterling Bank).
At the UBA Group where he worked for almost 12 years, he led the retail banking transformation initiative centred on channel restructuring and remodelling and the general overhaul of the operating retail platform of the group amongst others.
Before joining the banking industry in 1991, Henry Ajagbawa had worked with Unilever International Audit, Lagos and UAC Plc for about 5 years.
His research interests include Service Marketing, Finance and Strategy and he has published several scholarly articles in international journals. He is an alumnus of Harvard University, International Institute of Management Development, Lausanne and AMP INSEAD.
